The story
I walked into a bridal party that was already buzzing. From the start, it felt like one of those mornings where everyone is in on the same joke and the energy just keeps building.
During gatecrash, Jerrick was put on the spot in the best way. He had to say ten promises in Chinese, and he was not confident at all. The more he tried, the louder everyone laughed, and somehow it became the perfect icebreaker for the whole day. It was playful, very them, and honestly a joy to film.
Then the tone shifted during the tea ceremony. Jie Ying’s grandparents are incredibly special to her, and I could feel how much that moment meant. The most memorable part was a quiet, emotional exchange with her grandfather. Nothing staged, nothing dramatic, just a real moment that you can only appreciate when you slow down and let it happen.
By dinner, the celebration felt bigger and bolder. The St. Regis ballroom had been renovated recently and the new LED screen made the march in feel like a proper entrance. When their Same Day Edit played later that night, the room lit up again. That is exactly what I love about an SDE, it brings the whole day together while it is still fresh in everyone’s heart.
